This is a genuine replacement element . This Universal Heater Kit will also fit the Creda 173 series machines.

The kit comprises: Heating Element, Double Male Connector, Heater Terminal Cover and fixing, Heater Protector (this device is a Thermal Fuse and not to be confused with a thermostat. If the heater element overheats for whatever reason this device will fail and stop the heater from working.)

Removing the Element :	Make sure the appliance has been disconnected from the MAINS supply. Remove the connecting wires to the element. Release the securing nut and unscrew it as far as the end of the stud. Do NOT remove the nut. Tap the end of the stud until the nut is resting against the face of the element frame. To remove the element move it from side to side whilst pulling it away from the drum. Do not use any form of lever to save damage to the drum.
Fitting the Element :	Before fitting this element unscrew the nut by 4 or 5 turns to release the bung. Smear a small amount of petroleum jelly around the surface of the bung. Insert the element fully into the drum and tighten the nut. This will have the effect of expanding the bung so as to form a water tight seal. Do not overtighten the nut. Finally reconnect the element wiring.
